Teacher Workshop: From Page to Place – The Secret World of Pollination

Join NatureConnect and our partners for a workshop focused on enhancing literacy curriculum through nature and place-based learning. This workshop will focus specifically on connections to the Expeditionary Learning Education (Bend-La Pine SD’s literacy curriculum) 2nd grade modules, The Secret World of Pollination and Providing for Pollinators. Teachers will:

  • gain background knowledge that connects the EL Education module theme to local ecosystems
  • learn practical, ready-to-use strategies to lead nature and place-based science activities that align with EL Education modules
  • build a foundation for nature journaling as a powerful education tool to link literacy and place-based learning
  • get access to award-winning environmental education curriculum guides to bring back to their classrooms

Who?
Teachers from Central Oregon school districts. Emphasis on 2nd grade curricular connections to BLPSD.
