The Children’s Forest of Central Oregon is offering a free winter program for 2nd grade that explores “Numbers in Nature.” The program includes two distinct lessons, “Tracks in the Snow: Measuring and Counting” and “Hibernating Numbers,” which combine natural science and mathematics to meet Common Core State Standards for Math, while exploring fun topics about local wildlife. Students will learn about hibernation and wildlife tracking, while playing fun games and practicing math.
