A typical day…
A typical day will be spent outdoors, supporting programs for youth and families. Our summer programs include rafting, camping, biking, kayaking, and family park days. Interns will help create a positive environment for participants and help co-lead and lead team building and other outdoor activities.
Skills learned…
Interns will receive training in youth development, program facilitation, risk management, and outdoor recreation. Interns will also have opportunities to develop leadership skills such as goal setting, communication, and conflict resolution.
Schedule and other details…
Programs primarily occur on weekdays between 9-5, but some weekend and evening work is required. There are 2 camping trips (July 28-30 and August 18-20) where attendance is strongly encouraged. Generally, transportation can be arranged with staff for interns living in Bend.
Job requirements…
This position requires conversational Spanish. Some experience working with youth and participating in outdoor recreation activities is strongly preferred.
